RYAN SPEEDO GREEN

Three-time Grammy Award-winning bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green is our 2025 Olga Forrai Foundation Award for Artistic Excellence honoree. Mr. Green regularly appears on the great operatic and concert stages worldwide, including New York, Vienna, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Glyndebourne, Santa Fe, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Toronto.

Singing a wide variety of roles from the standard repertoire of Wagner, Verdi, Strauss, Puccini, and Mozart, Mr. Green has also received critical acclaim for his roles in contemporary works like Terence Blanchard’s Champion and Fire Shut Up in My Bones and Jake Heggie’s Moby Dick. This Summer, Mr. Green makes role debuts as Klingsor in Parsifal (Glyndebourne), Wotan in Die Walküre (Santa Fe), and next Spring as King Marke in a new production of Tristan und Isolde at The Metropolitan Opera.

Honors and awards include a 2011 Grant from The Olga Forrai Foundation, the same year he was a National Grand Finals Winner in The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. He has been the recipient of a 2014 George London Foundation Award, 2014 Annenberg Grant recipient, 2014 Gerda Lissner Foundation First Prize winner, Richard Tucker Career Grant, and Sara Tucker Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation, and in 2023 received the Beverly Sills Artist Award from The Metropolitan Opera.

The Olga Forrai Foundation created the “Artistic Excellence Award” to recognize and honor artists who exemplify the qualities we look for in singers and conductors, and have attained the highest levels of international recognition for their achievements. We believe these singers and conductors represent the gold standard for those who perform in the dramatic and verismo repertoire.

7 PM: Dinner begins – Three-course menu with wine; guests will choose from a selection of appetizers, entrées, and desserts.

    Table purchase includes multiple tickets and recognition of the purchaser’s name or organization in the evening’s printed program, website, and event signage. Each guest receives:

Supporting Emerging Dramatic Voices & Classical Conductors

Established in 1981, The Olga Forrai Foundation has provided support for the career development of exceptionally large, dramatic voices and classical music conductors for 40 years. The Olga Forrai Foundation grant recipients have performed on the great operatic stages and concert halls around the world. To date, The Olga Forrai Foundation has awarded over 275 grants totaling more than $1,000,000.
